Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Rolled oats (40 g)
- 3/4 cup Tap water (180 ml)
- 1 tbsp Peanut butter (16 g)
- 1 medium banana
Equipment and available appliances
- Microwave
- 1 × Microwave-safe bowl or deep glass dish
- 1 × Eating spoon
- 1 × Measuring cups and spoons
- 1 × Oven mitts
Method
- Put the oats and measured water in a large microwave-safe bowl. Leave plenty of room for bubbling.
- Microwave on high for 90 seconds. Stir, then continue in 30-second bursts until the oats are soft, roughly 1–2 minutes more. Watch for overflow.
- Use oven mitts to remove the bowl and let it stand for 1 minute. Stir in the peanut butter, then break the peeled banana over the top.
Helpful notes
- Microwave time depends on its power and your portion size. Stop if the mixture starts climbing the sides.
- Use a roomy bowl, not a narrow drinking mug.
